Workplace mental health webinars from AFCA

AFCA is holding webinars to improve mental health in the workplace, very timely with the ongoing issues especially in Victoria with CoVid-19 as well as the turbulent state of the forestry industry. Source: Timberbiz

The first event is a webinar on Monday 10 August which is called Creating a mentally healthy workplace starts with you. This session will increase understanding, raise awareness of possible risks and provide basic practical strategies to maintain mental health and wellbeing for the business and the individual.

Topics include:

  • Safety at work
  • Creating a mentally health workplace – why?
  • Understanding mental health –what is it?
  • Workplace wellbeing – how?

 

The second event is on Wednesday 2 September which is called Taking action to implement a workplace mental health policy.

This session helps find direction on mental health so that you can attract and keep top talent and become better place to weather tough times.

Topics include:

  • Mental health policy – an integrated approach explored
  • Responsibilities – employers, managers & employees
  • Action steps to implementation

 

A third event is yet to be scheduled and is a much longer proposition. Mental Health First Aid (Accredited Training) will be announced by AFCA sometime in the future.
