The Arbre Forest Industries Training and Career Hub, which opened in 2016, is an industry-led training hub providing skills training many of the workforce employed by small businesses in regional areas.

“Importantly, Arbre’s training is grounded in responsible forest management for a sustainable long-term industry to lock-in a strong future for what is our ultimate renewable resource,” Tasmania’s Resources Minister Guy Barnett said.

“With an ageing and largely regional workforce, it is essential that we invest in training the industry leaders of tomorrow, and this funding will enable Arbre to offer work experience and traineeships to young Tasmanians.

“The future of Tasmania’s forestry sector depends on our ability to attract, train and retain talented Youth,” he said.

“Our forestry sector provides many diverse career opportunities and young Tasmanians, no matter where they live or their background, are encouraged to think about career in our essential and sustainable forestry sector.”
