Supreme Court trial date for Gunns’ chairman

A date has been set for the Supreme Court trial of the former chairman of the collapsed Tasmanian timber company Gunns. It is due to start on August 5 in Launceston. Source: Seven News

John Gay has pleaded not guilty to two counts of insider trading in 2009.

It is alleged he sold 2.4 million Gunns shares shortly before their value dropped.

A pre-trial conference in the Supreme Court in Hobart was told Gay’s trial is expected to take two to three weeks.
