Many saw the symposium as the start of a journey, now the focus is on establishing a “hands on” steering committee to ensure all these opportunities are realised.
The new markets provide opportunities for all wood products: local, and imported; structural and appearance; sawn, engineered and panels; mass timber and lightweight – it’s about trying to grow that market for everybody, and collaboration in developing these markets will be beneficial.
There is need for generic collaboration around ‘technical specification’ and ensuring that industry provides dedicated technical assistance to make the process ‘simple’, not hard for designers and builders.
