The first CLT panel has been manufactured at Södra, Sweden in its new Varo facility. This is the second CLT plant for Sodra. Originally it was planned to start production at the end of 2021 but mainly due to the Covid pandemic, timelines were moved to mid 2022. Source: Timberbiz

Now Ledinek Engineering has successfully performed the initial running of the Kontizink finger-jointer, the Stratoplan planer, and the Z- and X presses to present the first plate and training has already started with Södra operators.

According to Ledinek the schedule is running to plan. This is an important milestone for achieving the company’s business goal. Ledineck was tasked with supplying plant and machinery.

This second CLT facility is geared to an annual capacity of around 100,000 m³. The first Sodra CLT facility has been up and running since mid-2019 and has an annual capacity of roughly 40,000 m³.

The new facility is in Värö, where Södra’s first CLT facility is located.
