The Australian Rural Leadership Program, the flagship program of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation, provides an intensive leadership course that brings together people from many different parts of Australia.

Minister Ludwig said the grant was funded under the Australian Government’s Caring for our Country program and will help deliver training that supports community skills, knowledge and engagement.

“This leadership program is about creating leaders who provide the backbone to rural and regional Australia across a range of agriculture and social service sectors,” Minister Ludwig said.

“The government has a history of support for this program and has seen the benefits it brings.

“This $150,000 funding will support the leadership capacity for women, Indigenous and culturally diverse people in sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.

The Australian Rural Leadership Foundation was established in 1992 to respond to emerging challenges for rural, regional and remote Australia. The program is delivered over 17 months with participants involved in a comprehensive program that equips them to advance the interests of their industries, communities, and rural Australia.

Since its establishment, the government has sponsored more than 40 participants in the program.

The Australian Rural Leadership Program boasts more than 500 graduates who are committed to the resilience of rural Australia through their industry, community, and family leadership roles.
