Private Forests Tasmania field day for landowners

Private Forests Tasmania (PFT) and the North-West Tree Growers Group is holding a forestry field day for landowners titled ‘Invest in Trees for your future’, on Friday 29 March at Milabena (NW).  Two properties will be visited to see results of a recently harvested radiata pine plantation showing exceptional high returns. Source: Timberbiz

The event will visit two properties which are within minutes of each other to see the results of a recently harvested plantation, and Private Forests Tasmania will be discussing planting trees on agricultural land and the advantages of high value shelterbelts to crops, livestock and investment. PTF will also provide information on planting and managing special species such as Macrocarpa and Sequoia.

It is hoped that harvesting operation may be shown on the day, forestry professionals will be on hand to answer any questions.

Some safety equipment will be provided but it is requested that appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear are a minimum requirement for attendees.

The event is on from 9:30am for 10:00am prompt start at Myalla Road, Milabena (approximately 20 minutes from Wynyard)
