Powerful Wood message on workplace safety

James Wood

James Wood’s powerful message about workplace safety is to be added to the Australian Forest Contractors Association’s Professional Ownership and Driver Wellbeing program. Mr Wood’s story of how making a few wrong choices one morning at work about 25 years ago led to an accident and his resulting paraplegia makes for compelling listening.

“I stuffed up. I made some wrong choices. And I ended up in a wheelchair for the rest of my life,” he told a PODW workshop in South Australia last year.

“When you are out there doing your jobs, you’ve all got your choices to make,” Mr Wood said. “My accident changed every bit of my life.”

Mr Wood established C&B Safe to enable him to share his message throughout Australia and overseas over 15 years ago.

His passion for sharing safety messages and educating employees, employers and management teams on the real impact of workplace injury has seen him share his message from the workshop floor to the boardroom.

PODW attendees will be offered a special price should they wish to purchase the CHOICES Safety Training DVD to take back to the workplace.

The AFCA is partnered in the PODW sessions with Australian Trucking Safety Services & Solutions (ATSSS) and KJ Training and Consulting.
