Australasia's home for timber news and information

Podcast number two on wood production

The University of Tasmania’s Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood (CSAWW) has presented the second podcast in its new timber education and skills series to partner its Graduate Certificate in Timber (Processing and Building). CSAWW announced the release of the centre’s second podcast: short online videos on fundamental aspects of using or producing timber and wood products. Source: Timberbiz

The aim was to start with an immediately useful subject so the first podcast was about using a moisture meter; the second is determining moisture content by oven drying to the Australian standard.

It is available on YouTube and as a free download from CSAWW’s website.

The podcasts are short and only deal with single topics and are available free at any time online.

A series of monthly podcasts are under way, with several in production.

Podcasts on basic wood products: poles, sawn timber, and engineered wood products will follow as well as information and student reviews of the current Graduate Certificate in Timber.

The podcasts complement CSAW’s other major educational activities on timber’s production and use in building: its online Graduate Certificate in Timber (Processing and Building), and its regular Master Classes. Enrolments for the GradCert Timber are currently open.

The Graduate Certificate in Timber (Processing and Building) is part of the School of
Architecture & Design’s continuing timber education and skills program.
