Photo competition to celebrate memories of Sugar Pine Walk

Forestry Corporation of NSW has launched a photo competition to mark the passing of the iconic Sugar Pine Walk in Bago State Forest, following extensive damage in the 2019‐20 bushfire season. The photo competition will focus on happier times and memories in the iconic walk, with only images taken prior to the recent fires accepted as entries.

The site is incredibly dangerous due to burnt standing timber and is strictly closed to visitors, said Forestry Corporation Silviculture Manager, Roger Davies.

“Forest visitors must avoid the area for their own safety; we welcome entries of photos taken before the 2019‐20 bushfire season; no images of burnt trees will be accepted,” Mr Davies said

“Photographers are invited to share their favourite memory of the Sugar Pine Walk with a caption of 100 words or less, including when the image was taken and what made the Sugar Pine Walk so memorable.”

The free competition opens to all interested photographers from 15 June 2020, with entry details available at www.forestrycorporation.com.au

Entries close on 24 July 2020 at 5pm AEST.

The overall winner will receive a $500 cash prize and the top 50 entries will be showcased in a photo book and e‐book commemorating the iconic walk.

The winner and shortlisted finalists will also receive a copy of the photo book and digital certificate in recognition of their placement.
