PEFC SECRETARY-GENERAL IN AUSTRALIA

AFSL invites you to hear Ben Gunneberg, Secretary General, PEFC International speak at Breakfast forums being held in the following cities:
Sydney – Tuesday 12th July,
Melbourne – Thursday 14th July, and
Brisbane – Friday 15th July
Forest certification assures that forests are managed in line with challenging environmental, social, and economic requirements. Chain of Custody certification enables certified material to be tracked from the forest to the final product. With increasing demand for products from responsibly managed forests, business interest in Chain of Custody certification along the timber value chain is soaring.
PEFC is an umbrella organization. It works by endorsing national forest certification systems developed through multi-stakeholder processes and tailored to local priorities and conditions. With about 30 endorsed national certification systems and more than 220 million hectares of certified forests, PEFC is the world’s largest forest certification system.
The Australian Standard for Forest Management AS 4708 and The Australian Standard for wood and wood products chain of custody AS 4707 are endorsed by PEFC.
