OFO’s two new appointments for Australia and New Zealand

OneFortyOne has appointed Branislav Zoric to the position of Chief Forester working in both Australia and New Zealand. The company has also appointed Shaun Truelock as New Zealand Forests General Manager. Source: Timberbiz

Mr Zoric will provide technical and professional advice on forestry matters including the integration of environmental, social, and economic values for sustainable forest management. He has more than 30 years’ experience in forest management, most recently Business Excellence Manager for APP Jakarta.

This followed his role as Forest Planning Business Unit Head for APRIL Group, a leading manufacturer in the pulp and paper industry.

“The role of Chief Forester is to provide trusted technical expertise. We welcome Branislav’s international experience as well as his vast knowledge gained from working in Australian and New Zealand forestry,” Interim Chief Executive Officer Peter Brydon said.

“One of our greatest challenges is the impact and risk a changing climate brings and Branislav is well placed to ensure we adapt to changes, embrace innovation and enhance value” Peter said.

“Branislav is a committed forester with a passion for balancing the values forests offer including important timber resources, biodiversity, and recreation.”

The company appointed Mr Truelock as New Zealand Forests General Manager, he is a forestry industry executive with experience leading businesses across New Zealand, Zambia, and South Africa.

Most recently Mr Truelock was Regional Manager for Juken, he has deep experience in running and developing operations and businesses in the forestry sector.

“We are very pleased to confirm Shaun’s appointment,” said Wendy Norris, Chief Executive Officer.

“This is a key leadership appointment for OneFortyOne. Our New Zealand Forest business is a significant regional employer, delivering wood fibre to domestic and international markets and prioritising conservation values in the forest.”

Having commenced his career with Sappi in South Africa, Mr Truelock subsequently established a harvesting company and worked as a forestry optimisation consultant.

He went on to work with global copper miner First Quantum Minerals leading an innovative forestry operation on an active mine development in Zambia. Following this role Mr Truelock moved to New Zealand.

“Shaun brings with him extensive commercial experience and will apply his continuous improvement mindset to the business,” said Ms Norris. “Throughout his career he has contributed to every element of a forestry business.
