The forest industry is an important one to the New Zealand economy as the third biggest in terms of export earnings and a major employer. However, the forestry world is changing with government funding in many areas becoming increasingly contestable and difficult.

There is a need for the forest industry to increase its funding base if it is to go forward and prosper in the future.

To make forests more productive, to better protect them from bio security threats, and therefore more make them more profitable, owners of all forests and woodlots need to be working together.

For the first time ever, all forest owners are being given the chance to create a fairer, more cohesive and more profitable industry.

To enable your say this is a referendum of forest growers that concludes on March 29, 2013.

You need to register to be part of the referendum, more details at the website at www.forestvoice.org.nz or call 0800 500 168 for a voting pack.
