Australasia's home for timber news and information

National timber industry publication set to re-launch

RYAN PUBLICATIONS, publishers of Australian Forests & Timber News, Daily Timber News and Australian Forests & Timber Directory, will re-launch Australian Timberman magazine in April.
Timberman, which ceased publication in 2007, commenced publication in Queensland in 1977. It will again cover the Australian timber processing and wood products industries and their suppliers.
Australian Forests & Timber News, established in 1991 and currently Australia’s largest circulating specialist industry publication will continue to focus on forest growing, harvesting and milling.
Timberman will feature news and views of the timber processing and wood products industry, associations, products, services, suppliers and Government involvement. It will also contain practical reports of industry developments and business operations from the smaller owner/operator to major industry players.
Publisher Hartley Higgins said the decision by Ryan Publication to purchase and again publish Timberman followed numerous requests from former readers, advertisers and associations for more in-depth coverage of timber processing and engineering issues.
“While the current economic downturn presents challenges for timber products companies and processors, we believe a positive and informative industry publication will be of real benefit for industry communications, trading and wood products promotion,” Higgins said.
Timberman will initially circulate over 5,000 copies with eight issues per year planned. It will be directed at decision-makers and be produced in an attractive full colour tabloid format for ease of reading and advertising impact.
