Makeover for Cobark Lookout

Cobark Lookout at Barrington Tops State Forest in New South Wales has had a makeover, offering visitors architect-designed facilities and a world class view. The lookout is the first stop for visitors on their way across the Barrington Tops from Gloucester, so was a great candidate for an upgrade, said Forestry Corporation of NSW Tourism and Partnerships Manager Louise Faulkner. Source: Timberbiz

“We’re excited to unveil the lookout and give visitors another reason to stop in Barrington Tops State Forest,” Ms Faulkner said.

“The site was previously a small verge with an older style picnic table, and now includes a nine-metre-wide tallowwood deck, shaped hardwood seating and a wheelchair-friendly picnic table.

“We’re thrilled with the result and look forward to sharing this amazing view with visitors.

Visitors to Barrington Tops State Forest will also soon have access to interpretive signage — the next stage in the Cobark Lookout upgrade.

“The signage will include a map of experiences across Barrington Tops and tips on staying safe in State Forest,” Ms Faulkner said.

“Autumn is a beautiful time of year to get out an experience the beauty of our natural environment.

“I encourage anyone who hasn’t paid a visit to their local State forest to do so and enjoy the best nature has to offer.”
