Members of the Goongerah Environment Centre set up the blockade to stop the logging in an area they say is of high conservation value.

The protesters blockade was pulled down about midday.

A spokesman for the protesters, David Caldwell, said the group would continue to disrupt logging.

“These are high conservation value areas that include areas of old-growth forests and some of the last biggest trees in Victoria or in Australia,” he said.

“We will continue because we have to bring to light the plight of the forests in Victoria that include areas of old-growth forest and some of the last biggest trees in Victoria or Australia.”

VicForests and the Department of Sustainability and Environment said environmental regulations are being followed in the area.
