It is being revised to reflect the new Forestry Log Haulage – Industry Code of Practice being developed by The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).

ForestWorks is also producing four to five short educational videos to support some of the important safety practices outlined in the manual. These resources are being created for industry, by industry, to make workplaces safer.

There is the opportunity for industry stakeholders to provide feedback on the current manual until Thursday 4 April. Drafts of the updated manual, and scripts and storyboards for the videos will also be made available for feedback later in the project.

ForestWorks, with project partners Australian Forest Contractors Association (AFCA) and Australian Forest Products Association (AFPA) are managing the project and have established a Project Steering Committee is to oversee the project. To ensure the products developed meet industry requirements, a Subject Matter Expert Working Group (SMEWG) has also been established to provide specialist technical advice on the content of the manual and videos.
