International sawing technologies to be unveiled

FOR SAWMILLERS there’s no denying the fact that it’s tough out there. Current market prices, reduced demand for wood products and rising raw material costs mean that sawmillers are demanding more from themselves, more from their operations and more from their technology suppliers.
Increased lumber yields, improved grade recoveries, higher production speeds, lower service or maintenance requirements, longer tool change intervals and a reduction in sawing costs are all at the top of the sawmillers list of technology and operational wishes. SawTech 2009 has been set up specifically to showcase these new developments. SawTech is being held in New Zealand on 9-11 September and then again for Australian sawmillers on 14-15 September.
