Through various ‘morning teas’ and donations, the Hyne Timber Mo Bro Challenge team has raised close to $10,000 so far.

Hyne Timber concluded its team efforts by announcing its 2015 Mo Bro of the year, supported by the Deputy Prime Minister, Warren Truss.

The 2015 title was awarded to James Dixon of Hyne Timber’s head office in Maryborough.

Mr Dixon said he was pleased to have been selected for the honour.

“The news that I was selected for Mo Bro of the year came as a real surprise,” he said. “I was so happy to get the news in the lead up to Christmas. I intend to put my voucher towards my families Christmas presents.

“It was all a bit of harmless fun while raising awareness about men’s health and some of the serious issues that could be affecting the people around me every day,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss congratulated the team on their fundraising efforts and the announcement of Mr Dixon as the Hyne Timber Mo Bro of the year.

“Congratulations to all those at Hyne Timber on their fundraising efforts once again for such a worthy cause, raising awareness about men’s health,” he said.

“It’s also great to see a company supporting and encouraging their employees, both male and female, to take park in such important initiatives, including a prize for their team’s Mo Bro of the Year.

“Congratulations to James Dixon, winner of this prestigious 2015 title for your mo growing effort,” Minister Truss said.

Hyne Timber’s communications manager and ‘Mo Sista’ Katie Fowden also joined the team, successfully winning herself a Go Pro for her efforts in the ‘Map My MOVE’ Movember Challenge.

Ms Fowden ranked one of two in the national challenge by submitting a screen shot of her GPS tracked moustache shaped Kayak route.

Started in 2003, Movember is a worldwide charity that is committed to men leading happier and healthier lives by focusing their fundraising on prostate cancer, testicular cancer and poor mental health and physical activity.
