ForestWorks to study skills and training needs for Queensland

This important study aims to produce consolidated insights and a report that will:

  • Analyse the current skill shortages, skill gaps and future training needs in the South and Central Queensland forestry regions
  • Identify the challenges that are currently being encountered in training and the support required
  • Develop the concept of a Queensland Forestry & Timber Training & Careers Hub, which is proposed to assist the industry in developing the skills and capacity of its workforce.

A report that is well-researched and effective must take into account the industry’s direct experience and specific needs.

To that end, ForestWorks will be seeking input from a range of employer and other organisations as part of this activity during November and December of this year.
