A number of potential sites are being investigated and options explored for the conduct of the next four-yearly event.
AFCA chairman Ian Reid is looking to being able to announce a final decision by mid 2013.
The previous two AusTimber events in 2008 and 2012 were very successful with many seasoned exhibitors saying 2012 was the best they had attended anywhere in the world.
“We have set the bar pretty high during past events, so we need to make sure that if we go ahead again in 2016, that these standards will be maintained” Reid said.
“We don’t want to go backwards. Accordingly our AFCA Directors are carefully studying all aspects to ensure a successful event can be held.”
Industry events like AusTimber are a perfect way of showcasing the industry to Government, the general public and highlighting the many career opportunities within the industry.
