There has been 785,000 tons of export wood products including plantation logs, plantation wood chips and native woodchips delivered to export markets by the end of 2020.

Salvaged plantation pine and salvaged plantation hardwood makes up 73% of the total volume of logs and wood chips which will have been loaded onto 25 ships in Twofold Bay.

The Eden operation has generated approximately $75 million into the economy through payments to staff and contractors and the purchase of wood supplies.

This result is great news for staff and suppliers of Pentarch Forestry as well as the NSW southern region and East Gippsland whose economies benefit greatly on the success of the operation.

Pentarch Forestry Chief Executive, Paul Heubner said Pentarch Forestry’s resolve to overcome the challenges of 2020 confirms its commitment to its staff, contractors, and the local community.

“This significant achievement comes just 11 months after the bushfire damaged the Eden facility,” he said.

“The commitment and efforts of our staff and contractors, the support of the Federal and NSW Governments as well as the Bega Valley Shire Council and the community, have been fundamental to the business’ success.” =

The result has allowed the Eden operation to ensure a happy Christmas for families of the hundreds of direct and indirect local employees who faced with a bleak outlook at the start of the year.

The Eden facility is now well positioned for 2021 and the development of the high-tech timber processing hub.

“We thank everyone who supported us throughout 2020 and we look forward to working with you in 2021,” Mr Heubner said
