Jarno Seppälä, the Managing Director of Indufor Oy, attended this event as a guest speaker. The topic of his keynote presentation was an overview of the global softwood log and lumber business.
More than 600 representatives from 14 countries including Finland, Germany, Russia, the US, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Australia attended this conference.
The attendees included wood traders, wood products manufacturers, and certification institutes, as well as experts from universities and related research institutes.
In addition, the number of attendees through live streaming reached over 50 000.
The China Global Wood Trade Conference (GWT China) is an annual event where global wood traders meet in China. Established to facilitate and promote information exchange and business cooperation for global wood trade community in 2011, GWT China takes place in one of China’s major port cities each year.
Ten cities – Tianjin, Taicang, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Shanghai, Wuhan and Chengdu, Chongqing, Deqing, Nanning have held the event.
GWT China generally attracts more than 400 participants, including wood suppliers, importers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers as well as trade associations, industry experts, government officials and representatives of international organizations from more than 20 countries.
