Australia’s slow vaccinations force Timber Offsite conference postponement

June’s Timber Offsite Construction 2021 conference and exhibition has been postponed. Frame Australia director Kevin Ezard said that with so many exciting developments happening in the world of Timber Offsite Construction, it was very disappointing to announce that COVID had forced another postponement of 2021 event until later in the year. It has been estimated that 70% of all events planned for Australia have been postponed.

Mr Ezard said that for the past 23 years the key feature of Frame Australia conferences had been the opportunity to personally network and talk with colleagues in the industry, rating number one in post event surveys.

“Whilst the 2021 event is planned to be ‘hybrid’ for engagement with a wider audience through ‘virtual’ participation, our core value is in-person attendance from local, interstate and overseas,” Mr Ezard said.

“This face-to-face experience that is the focus of our conference is now at risk, with the Australian government unable to provide any assurances for the timing of COVID immunisation.

“Under these circumstances we are forced to postpone the event to later in the year,” he said. “When the government has reached their vaccination targets, we will conduct a safe event for all of us to enjoy.

“Hopefully in the coming months we will be able to announce new dates for the TOC 2021 Conference and Exhibition.”
