AFS seminars for Brisbane and Melbourne

Australian Sustainable Forest Certification Scheme Seminars will be held in Brisbane and Melbourne in October to provide a general introduction to forest management and chain of custody. Source: Timberbiz

These seminars will also provide an update on the Australian Forestry Standard’s progress and strategic direction, including a summary of the review processes for AS4707 and AS4708.

Richard Stanton, National Secretary Australian Forestry Standard Limited will explain:
– The benefits of certification and how the system works
– How certification fits with GBCA Green Star, Government and company procurement policies and illegal logging legislation
– How to apply for certification including the process, what is required, who does the certification, costs involved and how long it takes.

The Brisbane seminar will be on Thursday, 18 October from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry in ground floor, conference centre – auditorium at 80 Ann Street Brisbane.

The Melbourne seminar will be on Thursday, 25 October from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Novotel Melbourne on Collins.
