A deer impact on primary industries

The Tasmanian Government is committed to balancing the impact of deer on important primary industries and environment while maintaining a deer herd as a traditional recreational hunting resource. Public input is sought to assist with the preparation of a state-wide Wild Fallow Deer Management Plan. Source: Timberbiz

The plan will set the direction for the management of the wild fallow deer herd and will function as a single point of reference for achieving a balanced approach to its management in Tasmania.

The plan will build on the results of the recently completed aerial survey component of the deer census. Stakeholder and public input to the plan will be critical to its success.
