Mr Carstensen has been FSC Director General since October 2012. He has a proven track record as a global leader within the environment and development sectors, including former roles with FairGreenSolutions and WWF, which make him extremely well-suited to consolidate FSC’s position as a global leader in responsible forest certification.
“FSC Australia will be bringing together our diverse stakeholders, from academia, communities, business, government, the environmental movement, and industry to discuss sustainable forestry, making sure that our forests remain for all and for future generations,” Sara Gipton, FSC Australia CEO said.
“We are excited to host the FSC Global Director, Kim Carstensen, to talk to how the FSC standards and brand can benefit both forests and business.
“The forum provides an opportunity to come together, listen, discuss and build stronger relationships to drive improved practices and make FSC the trusted brand for Healthy forests supporting healthy communities.”
The forum will bring together local experts, stakeholders and members, who are representative of the diverse interests that make up FSC to network, to discuss FSC in the hope of opening productive dialogues and building stronger relationships.
The forum will consist of two sessions, one on forestry and certification the second on brand awareness, followed by networking drinks.
