Top 5 – Australian Hardwood Chip Exports

  1. Down 15.3% – Australia’s housing starts over the year-ended April 2019, totalling 194,643 separate dwellings
  2. 792,417 m3 – imports of sawn softwood were 21.1% higher over the year-ended April than for the year prior
  3. AUDFOB222.41/bdmt – the average export price of Australian hardwood chip exports in April
  4. 84,218 m3 – smaller dimension softwood log exports (<15 cm diameter at the small-end) in April
  5. 1956 – the first container freight vessel entered the global fleet – it carried just 58 containers. Now they carry as much as 23,000 containers.
