TCA review continues

The review found widespread support for TCA and its role, while recognising the opportunity to revise the structure in line with the changing circumstances and needs of Australia’s timber communities.

The outgoing board accepted the recommendations of the review, which included recognition that future staff roles would be different and accordingly, the outgoing board and staff agreed to implement voluntary redundancies to facilitate the restructuring.

As part of the restructure, an interim board was appointed to replace the outgoing board. It is important to note that one existing director has been appointed to the interim board to provide continuity through the transition process.

It is anticipated the restructure will take two to three months to complete, when the interim board will hand over to a new board, constituted under the new structure.

The interim board is intent on reinvigorating TCA as a sustainable and representative organisation that reflects community views. This is being done, over the coming months, through extensive consultation with branches, members and stakeholders.

On behalf of all TCA members and stakeholders, the interim board takes the opportunity to express its sincere thanks, regards and respect for the tireless and professional support and assistance of the former TCA staff and previous board.

Their collective efforts, under often trying circumstances, sustained TCA through difficult times.
TCA continues to operate as a going concern.

Detailed communications with TCA members, branches and stakeholders will commence in coming weeks.
