Responsible Wood announces amendment project for AS / NZS 4708

In December 2021 Responsible Wood published the latest version of the Australian and New Zealand Standard for Sustainable Forest Management (AS / NZS 4708). Source: Timberbiz

AS/NZS 4708 specifies the environmental, economic, social and cultural requirements that must be met to demonstrate good practice and continued improvement towards Sustainable Forest Management.

The details of the amendment are provided in the Proposal Form and Scoping Plan document both available from Responsible Wood (www.responsiblewood.org.au).

The project involves a review and consideration of aligning the conversion cut-off date in AS/NZS 4708 currently 31 December 2006 with the PEFC International Standard for Sustainable Forest Management which is 31st December 2010.

Responsible Wood is comment from interested stake holding organisations and is welcoming nominations for the AS/NZS 4708 Standards Reference Committee and Working Groups.
