Readvertising the Kalangadoo treatment plant

The Kalangadoo timber treatment plant will be put back on the market again by Liquidators Clifton-Hall who will engage an agent to readvertise the plant and assets. Source: ABC News

Wepar Investments that owned the plant went into liquidation last December, just seven weeks after buying it from Gunns.

Tim Clifton of Clifton-Hall says he wants to sell the company’s assets as a whole.

“Because the offers we had weren’t really for the whole lot, I’m trying to sell, I like to sell everything is my main goal, if I can’t sell everything well then I’ll look to selling certain assets,” he said.

“So firstly I’d like to try and have one more go of just trying to sell the whole assets as they sit and then if they can’t do that then the next plan then will be to have an auction.”

He says it makes sense to try to sell the property as a treatment plant.

“It would be preferable I think to sell as is and the reason is there’s certain licences in place and there’s going to be EPA [Environment Protection Authority] issues with this site,” he said.

“So I think the existing use is probably the best use in this case.

“That’s not to say someone couldn’t turn it into something else but you certainly wouldn’t want to put a school or anything there.”
