Queensland lobbies for more logging

CEO of peak industry body Timber Queensland, Rod McInnes said that the industry is capable of growing but needs the opportunity.

“I think where we’re heading is to a good place,” he said. “In a sense, we’re going to bring in more forest to be used, both Crown and private, and this government is of a view that we should be able to do that.”

Mr McInnes conceded that with additional land comes the need for new investors, and he’s hopeful there’s enough confidence from the private sector.
