Quality timbers to go under the hammer

The Forest Products Commission is expecting spirited bidding from woodcraft enthusiasts at the next quarterly log auction.

The auctions, which are held at regular intervals throughout the year, provide opportunities for the public to purchase a unique range of assorted native timbers.

The rich colours and distinctive features of Western Australian timbers are often the inspiration behind exceptional furniture creations and craft designs of local artisans.

Going under the hammer on Saturday August 14, 2010 will be a quantity of jarrah (curl and birdseye), marri (curl included), karri, sheoak and blackbutt logs. There will be an assortment of slabs and boards in the aforementioned species, as well as jarrah burl slices and craft packs.

Timber can be inspected at the Forest Products Commission’s Harvey Mill at 64 Weir Road, Harvey during core business hours, Monday to Friday, or on the day of the auction between 8.00am and 9.30am. To arrange an inspection prior to auction contact Steve Davis on 0427 380 632.
