Australasia's home for timber news and information

Picture perfect in every sense!

FORESTS NSW is encouraging amateur photographers with a passion and flair for forests and forest products to enter its 2010 photography competition.

Held every second year, the competition invites budding photographers and lovers of State forests everywhere to capture what forests mean to them.

This year the theme is ‘State forests – part of your everyday’.

Using this theme, photographers can interpret how forests inspire them in daily life, by either choosing any of the 700 forests State-wide to take photographs in, or taking a creative snap of an Australian forest product. A forest product could be a unique timber structure or something simple that you use everyday.

Judged by a panel of experts, prizes include 1st prize – $500, 2nd prize – $ 300 and 3rd – $150.

Winners will be announced at the Cumberland Forest Fair (in north-west Sydney) on 10 October. Winning images will also be featured in Bush Telegraph magazine and online.
