Nokian Tyres acquires wheel company

Nokian Heavy Tyres has acquired Finnish heavy equipment wheel company Levypyora Oy. This company has two business lines, wheels and steel structures, and serves several original equipment (OE) manufacturers and aftermarket customers (AM) in forestry, agriculture and earthmoving applications. Annual net sales of Levypyörä is approximately EUR 18 million.

Levypyörä has already been a trusted partner of ours for many years. The acquisition provides additional growth opportunities and offers a full service solution for our key OE and AM customers” Manu Salmi, Managing Director, Nokian Heavy Tyres said.

Levypyörä was started 64 years ago and now employs around 100 people in Finland. The company is a provider of wheels for heavy OE and aftermarket applications and is committed to developing eco-friendly processes. Levypyörä was a part of Weckman Steel corporation.
