HIA managing director made the announcement at the Association’s annual National Policy Congress where Mr Dwyer was elected unopposed.

“Mr Dwyer has served on the Board of HIA for over a decade, with much of that period as the Association’s Treasurer,” said Goodwin.

“Ron has also spent his career in the building industry both as a contractor as well as running a large manufacturing business that produces building products, giving him the experience and industry knowledge to take on this role.”

Dwyer is the principal of the Western Australian based Jason Windows, one of Australia’s largest window manufacturing companies.

He has been a member of HIA for 30 years, serving on numerous committees, before being elected as the Regional President of Western Australia in 1999.

In 2001 he joined the National Board of HIA, and the following year was elected national
treasurer, holding both positions for over a decade.

In 2006 Ron Dwyer was awarded life membership to HIA for services to the association and the building industry.

Dwyer replaces Immediate past president Stuart Wilson, who has completed his 2-year term
