Ms Welden is a passionate and innovative educator with extensive experience in the industry.

She has more than 15 years of professional on-ground experience in education program management and delivery.

Ms Welden has led the conception, development, in-classroom implementation and evaluation/refinement stages of education resources and programs, across K-12 learning areas.

She spoke of her experience in achieving exceptional results aligned with organisational strategic direction, and her passion to promote Australia’s sustainable primary industry sectors to school students.

“Quality industry resources can often remain invisible and unused by teachers. This is why it’s so important to have a solid, meaningful promotional strategy, strong collaborative networks with peak education services and teacher professional learning,” she said.

“To this end, I’ve been heavily involved in this area since 2004, and believe that working with FWPA on the ForestLearning program is a natural extension to my career.

“I’m excited about the challenges and fresh opportunities this position offers. I will have the chance to be a dynamic agent for increasing the awareness and uptake of existing, and yet to be developed, resources around Australia.”

Ms Welden has been involved in a number of industry forums including the Australia 2020 Summit – Rural Industries and Rural Communities stream. She was also a first steering group member in establishing the Primary Industries Education Foundation, including input into the first Constitution and Strategic Plan, and a participant at the Sydney Round Table with the Minister of Agriculture.
