It all started with the day he got pulled over in Baker County, Oregon in the US by police. Mr Brokaw freely admits he was going fast, very fast, and deserved the ticket. He just didn’t expect it to cost him more than $472.

Like many of us, Mr Brokaw says he intended to pay his speeding ticket. But he didn’t have to like doing it.

That’s when Mr Brokaw went with something unconventional. He decided to pay his court fine with legal timber, and put his payment on a piece of wood.
