Forest & Wood Communities Australia is a non-profit association and is seeking a Business Development Manager to help increase membership and develop sponsorship.
This part-time position is ideally located in Melbourne where you will work with the Managing Director and stakeholders directly and indirectly involved in forestry to create and execute strategies to promote membership.
The Australian timber industry employs 50,000 people, many of whom particularly in the native forest sectors face uncertainty as ongoing activist campaigning affects government policy. FWCA was formed in July this year to defend their livelihoods and the communities in which they live and the BDM will be helping to promote our work.
This exciting opportunity has massive potential and you will be getting in on the ground floor to create a strong voice for grassroots timber workers, timber communities and supporters of sustainable Australian forestry. Most importantly you will be helping to give our members hope for their future.
The BDM will be a dynamic self-starter who is motivated to exceed expectations in building relationships and our membership and then using it to attract sponsorship while upholding our values as a grassroots organisation which ensures the interests of our members are our priority.
We’re seeking a person with networking, negotiation, planning and marketing skills who can build relationships within forestry and related industries and promote the association.
Knowledge of forestry and its various sectors is also essential as is your professionalism and attention to detail.
FWCA is based in Melbourne and we will favour someone who is able to work in this location. However, if you are the best person for the job but are not in Melbourne we will consider an alternative arrangement.
