James Hardie rebuilds America

James Hardie joins 84 Lumber’s “We Build American” initiative, along with builders and more than 180 companies in more than 40 states that sell American made building materials and products.

The program is aimed at encouraging builders and consumers to consider construction homes with materials sourced in the United States.

James Hardie was contacted by 84 Lumber to participate in the program a few months prior to the announcement of the initiative on January 23 at the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.

James Hardie products are made at one of seven manufacturing facilities across the US and the company sources raw materials from within 500 miles of each plant to further reduce its carbon footprint.

“James Hardie is proud to be a part of ‘We Build American’ initiative. We strongly believe in building more sustainable homes, neighborhoods and materials by leveraging local, regional and national resources.

“The building products industry has shown much resilience in this country and we’re proud to be working with great partners at ‘We Build American’ to continue this tradition and recent momentum in the coming years,” said Rob Rugg, director of Strategic Accounts

84 Lumber Company is a privately held building materials and services supplier to professional contractors and build-it-yourselfers. The company owns and operates more than 250 stores, component plants, door shops, installation centers and engineered wood product shops in 30 US states.
