IFA and AFG Ballarat field trip

A joint Institute of Foresters of Australia and Australian Forest Growers field trip will be held on 26 May in the Mount Cole/Beaufort area near Ballarat which will show the many aspects of sustainable forest management. Topics covered during the field day will include:

  • Native forest management, incl. harvesting and
  • regeneration
  • Softwood plantation management
  • Pyrenees Timber Sawmill
  • Victorian Environmental Assessment Council (VEAC)
  • Recommendations
  • Future of both upland and lowland forests

All IFA/AFG members are invited to bring along family, friends, work colleagues and others who may be interested in forest management and conservation.

Meet at 10.15am at the Railway Station, Pratt St, Beaufort and car pooling will be used to access areas. BYO lunch and drinks. Hard hats are provided, please bring your own hard hat if you have one and wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The field day should finish around 4pm.

The day is free for IFA/AFG members or $20.00 non-members (cash on the day).
