“Stacey has made a significant contribution to AFCA during her time as GM, and she has led the organisation through significant change,” AFCA Chairman Adan Taylor said.

“Stacey was responsible for establishing AFCA’s first strategic plan, which gave AFCA a new focus and communicated clear commitments to our members and sponsors on how we would support and represent them throughout forestry and with governments.

“Her efforts in restructuring AFCA’s administration and service delivery functions have greatly streamlined the organisation, and she certainly leaves the organisation in a great position to move forward,’’ Mr Taylor said.

As general manager, Ms Gardiner collaborated with a range of stakeholders to deliver projects that promote and improve safety outcomes and create sustainable business outcomes for members and forest contracting businesses nationally. She has also represented AFCA and its members on various industry and government committees, showing her commitment to ensuring members have a strong voice.

“On behalf of the AFCA Board and the team, we thank Stacey for all her hard work and the commitment she brought to the role and wish her well for the future,” Mr Taylor said.

“We all sincerely thank Stacey for her efforts leading forest contracting businesses, on the ground in forests, and on the road with haulage. She will no doubt take her work ethic and can-do attitude forward to her next role,” Australian Forest Products Association CEO Ross Hampton said today

“She has been a tireless advocate in an increasingly difficult forest contracting industry, taking up numerous issues for the hardworking businesses which AFCA represents,” Mr Hampton said.
“In 2019 Stacey joined the AFPA board where she has made significant contributions to the Association. I have always valued her advice, especially when it comes to the impacts on the small operators she represents. She leaves AFCA well equipped to represent the industry in the future,” Mr Hampton said.

Ms Gardiner will finish up later this month, and AFCA has begtan recruitment to appoint a new general manager.

While a new general manager is sought, the AFCA and ForestFit team in Dionne, Ayse and Asha will continue to progress the great work already underway and can be contacted as usual.
