Gearing up for a big AUSTimber 2012

AUSTimber 2012 organisers have announced that all 650 tickets for the Welcome Function and all expo sites have been sold.
Commercial accommodation in Mount Gambier is also full and extra flights are filling, field trips are booked out and there were only a few remaining tickets to the Forestworks’ AUSTimber conference when the online booking system closed.
David Quill, General Manager, AUSTimber 2012 said: “We planned for AUSTimber 2012 to be bigger and better than 2008 and it is.”
“The community, from businesses to schools to volunteers and the team I’ve worked with have made this another great event for the region and for the industry.”
AUSTimber 2012 is the world’s only combined in-forest softwood and hardwood plantation expo and the biggest forestry and timber expo in the Southern Hemisphere.

The expo is on this Friday and Saturday in the forest 22 kilometres from Mount Gambier.
There will be free buses to the site from Mount Gambier and Portland.
Site tickets can be purchased at the Lady Nelson Visitor Centre. To get there, hop on the free city loop bus that will stop off at Lady Nelson.
Tickets are $10 for adults and children and students free.
The official AUSTimber Welcome function to be held on Thursday features guest speakers including Olympic and Para-Olympic champion Michael Milton and Senator Richard Colbeck, Liberal Senator from Tasmania, and a special auctioneer to run the charity auction.
David Quill is calling on local businesses who want to raise their profile to an international, national, local audience to donate towards the charity auction.
Donating businesses will be promoted on the www.austimber2012.com.au website and on the night. For more information contact [email protected] or phone 0459 171 570.
