Ms Mason is a leader in forestry with more than 20 years’ professional experience in the native forest and plantation management sectors across Australia.

With post-graduate business management qualifications (an MBA), Jodie Mason joins FWPA from Indufor Ltd, where she was a senior consultant.

As a former lead auditor for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) forest management and chain-of-custody assessments, Ms Mason provided expert technical support for accreditation audits of FSC certification bodies.

She has also provided analysis and advice to inform government and industry forest policy, including serving as an expert witness advising the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal on the environmental management of plantations.

In addition, Ms Mason has undertaken forest carbon resource assessment and modelling projects for forest and land managers and greenhouse gas emitters.

Ric Sinclair, Managing Director of FWPA, welcomed Ms Mason to the team.

“We are thrilled to have somebody of Jodie’s calibre join FWPA. She brings with her impressive credentials that will add significant value to our organisation. We greatly look forward to her contribution,” he said.

“Jodie’s role is about helping forest growers work collaboratively on forest research and development by identifying research priorities and matching them up with possible providers of funding and research.

“Along with R&D Manager Chris Lafferty and R,D & E Projects Co-ordinator Jarrod Gooden, Jodie will help to maximise the benefits to members of our substantial research investments.”
