Free seminar on new National Construction Code – timber framed buildings

Low to mid-rise lightweight timber-framed building is one of the most economical ways to build and so there are many new products and solutions becoming available to assist this form of construction. This joint TDA and WoodSolutions seminar will address existing and new products, methods and solutions for this building system and discuss the recently published 2019 National Construction Code. Products and solutions to be discussed include the range of acoustic floor screeds available, lateral and overturning resistant systems and new textile based fire-rated wall systems applicable to difficult to install zero lot exterior walls.

Also discussed will be a new methods to build timber buildings, called post and plate, the moisture and movement performance in a recently built timber-framed buildings, as well as a case study of an extension to an existing building using a timber based building system.

Providers of products and services will be there to discuss current or future projects.

The event is free for all design and building professionals and will be held on Monday 24 June in New South Wales at the NSW Teachers’ Federation conference centre in Surry Hills from midday until 5pm. CPD certificates of attendance will be available for all professions with four formal CPD points for architects.
