The Conference is a leading networking and information sharing opportunity for the industry.
Senator Richard Colbeck, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture will provide a unique insight into the government’s thinking about the industry, as well as talk to work he is leading on an industry strategic directions paper.
Presentations by Ross Hampton, AFPA CEO and Andrew Metcalfe, Partner at Ernst & Young, will provide an industry overview of strategic directions.
Professor Swee Mak who is the director of the Design and Research Institute at RMIT University will cover the latest in innovation theory and application.
The practical focus of the conference means that attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest in applied innovations in the industry, including case studies from the Innovation Skills Program conducted via panel sessions with plenty of time for questions and answers as well as discussion.
Releasing details of the conference program, Forestworks CEO Michael Hartman said it has become a not-to-be missed event, with seven sessions presented by over a dozen industry experts.
“With our industry operating in a rapidly changing environment, innovation is the key to all that we do – and this year’s event continues to focus on that theme,” Mr said Forestworks CEO Michael Hartman.
“The Innovation Skills Program has been in place for two years now, so this year’s conference will give our industry some real insights into what they can do to lift productivity and increase business opportunities.
“The Innovation Working Groups will report on case studies from different parts of the industry, helping businesses better understand what they need to do in the future to sustain business growth.

The conference will be held in the National Convention Centre, Canberra on 25 March 2015.
Participants can also attend two associated Innovation Forums being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 24 March.
The industry dinner – co-hosted by Forestworks and the Australian Forest Products Association – will be held at Parliament House on 25 March.
Last year’s dinner attracted 600 industry leaders and MPs, and an address was given by the Prime Minister, Tony Abbott.
