ForestrySA School Photography Competition – AUSTimber People’s Choice Award!

ForestrySA and the Riddoch Art Gallery invite you to view a small exhibition at Moumt Gambier’s Riddoch Art Gallery showcasing the local talent of the Limestone Coast’s junior photographers.
Late last year ForestrySA sent out the call to junior photographers in the region to take their digital cameras out to the forests and get snapping. The judges were looking for photos that captured all facets of the forestry industry from the trees in the forest through to the final wood products in service.
Eleven Secondary School and 15 Primary School entries were received and following advice from the judging panel, ForestrySA awarded monetary prizes to schools and individuals for the top two photographs in each age group.
Now it is you, the public, who can be the judge thanks to AUSTimber 2012 and the “People’s Choice” award category. The exhibition is open from 17 March to 15 April, and by going down to the Riddoch Art Gallery and casting your vote between 17 March and 29 March, AUSTimber is providing $250 to each winner per age group.
The winners will be announced in a ceremony at 2pm on 31 March at the AUSTimber site where David Quill, general manager AUSTimber 2012, will present the cheques.
