The Opposition claims the Government’s agreement to extend a peace deal settlement is increasing industry uncertainty.

A trip by Jane Calvert, from the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy
Union, and the Australian Conservation Foundation’s Don Henry, was cited as a reason for the Government to extend the time given to strike a peace deal.

The Shadow Treasurer, Peter Gutwein said the Government was extending uncertainty to allow people to attend a “junket”.

“Nearly a third of your unrepresentative group of signatories have jetted off to sun it up in Rio,” he said.

The Premier, Lara Giddings, told Mr Gutwein he was spreading negativity.

The Earth Summit is a United Nations conference to build environmental agreements between 194 nations.
