Simon Dorries

Simon Dorries recently commenced as chief executive of Australian Forestry Standards (AFS) and comes to the post with more than 30 years’ experience in the wood product industry.

Mr Dorries is well regarded as a leading international expert in the manufacture, quality control and product certification of engineered wood products.

He joins AFS Ltd after nine years as chief executive of the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australia and is well qualified to lead the company through its next stage of growth and development.

Over coming months, Mr Dorries will be working with the New Zealand Forest Certification Association Inc to implement the PEFC system in New Zealand.

Other priorities include raising the profile of AFS Ltd and PEFC in both Australia and New Zealand, and ensuring that those who have invested in certification receive the recognition and benefits they deserve.

AFS Ltd is hosting an informal reception to welcome Simon on Monday 15 June in Brisbane.
