Biomass discussions after Bioenergy conference

Doug Bradley will visit Victoria and Tasmania for discussions on biomass and is keen to meet with people in the biomass supply area. Source: Timberbiz

Bradley is looking to set up b2b meetings to assess potential investments in biomass plants (pellets, torrefied wood, pyrolysis oil) and supply chains (efficient harvest equipment, rail cars, port storage and handling etc) to enable a quantum leap in biomass trade.

To lay the groundwork for exporting large volumes of biomass at low-cost to satisfy Asian markets. He is also attending the World Bioenergy Association Biomass Trade session at the Bioenergy Australia annual conference November 25-26 in New South Wales.

The Bio-trade section will focus on three areas; biomass demand, supply chain game changers that will enable competitive long-distance supply of biomass, and a new Bio-trade Equity Fund that, when capital is raised, will invest in plants and supply chains worldwide.

Supply Chain Game Changers is based on a recently published study by IEA Bioenergy Task 40 Bio-trade, “Low-Cost, Long Distance Supply Chains”, that illustrates new concepts to lower the cost of bio-trade. ( www.bioenergytrade.org ).

It is intended that the Bio-trade Equity Fund, now being developed, will invest in entire supply chains to reduce the risk inherent in any one link in the chain.
